Heart, Mind, Intuitions, Truths, Beliefs & all that NONSENSE

Heart versus Mind, is a highly over-rated dispute.

Heart pumps blood & Mind collects, assimilates, draws inferences from its observations (through the five tools of sight, touch, taste, smell and sound).

Heart is at best an indicator, by the signals of feelings~ “beat speed”

(an important indicator though, that is from where the birth of intuition takes place.)

A question here:
Can the MIND be trusted?

1st: The five tools of gathering informations aren’t perfect. The eyes open will perceive a different environment than the closed eyes. (The suppositions come into play here). Even the open eyes & perfectly working other tools may have different perceptions of the same situation when the mind is open or close (Predetermined ideas)

2nd: All things remaining equal, the mind will perceive and accept based on previously held beliefs, the history of previously fed data in terms of memories, personal bias (society, whims, idiocy,  ~ whatever).

The data of previously fed memories plays an important role. Memory is not absolute but  fiction. It is the way the mind wants to           recall people and events. The heroes and the villains will change, the  events will be recorded based on minds wish. and finally           what will be remembered is nothing short of fiction. And of course there is no way of cross checking the authenticity of memories.

3rd: “Believes” and ‘accepted “lies” play a very important role in deciding an individual minds truth.

There are other factors too, but the above three is sufficient enough to summarize that the “Facts perception” of one mind might be the fiction for other.

So the actual dichotomy arises between:

a)    Perception versus reality

b)    The ‘Believed’ truth and the real truth ( we keep scientific truth out of this since, that is a verifiable fact, thou perceptions affect that too)

(The believed truth changes. When the world was expected to be flat, expeditions were sent to all corners)

c)   The Logical versus the Illogical (It is tough fight. In history, hardly anyone has won against non-logic. The logic fights by perceived truth and non logic fights by brute beliefs, while both may be equally wrong.

d)    The Reactive mind vs the Proactive mind. The reactive mind is a concept in Dianetics and Scientology systems of L. Ron Hubbard, referring to that portion of the human mind that is programmed to STIMULUS RESPONSE which Hubbard blamed for most mental and physical ailments.

e)     Healthy and unhealthy mind (for the psychiatrists to decide)

The list can go on and on.

The problem remains if mind itself is not reliable, what do you believe in.

The brain being fed with varied informations gives stimuli and gets rested or unrested. Here the  subconscious mind plays an important role.

<SUBCONSCIOUS MIND: “In psychology, the subconscious is the part of consciousness that is not currently in focal awareness. The word subconscious is an anglicized version of the French subconscient as coined by the psychologist Pierre Janet, who argued that underneath the layers of critical thought functions of the conscious mind lay a powerful awareness that he called the subconscious mind. Because there is a limit to the information that can be held in conscious focal awareness, a storehouse of one’s knowledge and prior experience is needed; this is the subconscious.” (Source: Wikipedia)>

The thinking is done at various levels from Logical mind, absolute mind,Reactive Mind, perceptions, believes and all is vetted  by the sub-conscious. It assimilates all, vets it through the beliefs, past recordings (Histories or mere stories) and it start getting agitated or calm. In agitated state, the run of blood through the veins increases resulting in heart beats.

Now the role of heart starts

That is from where the intuitions, love hate, peace, calm, originates.

So possibly no dichotomy between the Heart and  mind actually exist, just two organs working in tandem, giving signals. How we accepts the signals is the question.

All above may be pure fact or pure bullshit, take it with a pinch of salt.
